Our community
Families may be asked to volunteer for field trips to fit their schedule. The safety rules will be reviewed with the children and those accompanying the school trip before the school trip. Iqra Childcare and Preschool does not transport children who require safety seats in vehicles for off-site activities. The use of public transportation, City of Regina transit bus or community transits are the only approved modes of transportation used by the childcare and preschool at the time of publication of this manual. Parents and guardians must provide written consent for their child to participate in the prescribed field trip in order for their child to be included. Parents or guardians who have not given this consent their child will remain in the day care while others go for field trips. Emergency contact information and first aid kits are collected from nurseries and remain with staff and children for all activities and outings. Special guests can include all kinds of people who can enhance the learning goals of the childcare and preschool. This could include people from the Regina Public Library, the RCMP, the Regina Fire Department or EMS, veterinarians, cultural visitors, chefs, or many others. Families who wish to participate as special guests to share specific skills or experiences to enhance children’s programming may discuss this option with the director to determine how best to do this.
